The consultation period for Peninsula Transport’s vision for the future of South West transport will close on 17th September 2021.

Launched in July, the vision is an important milestone in the development of a full, longer-term regional transport strategy, which will provide a more efficient, resilient and cleaner transport system across the peninsula.

Chairman of Peninsula Transport, Councillor Andrea Davis, said: “The key challenge is to strengthen the strategic links in and out of the peninsula, so that they keep pace with the rest of the UK. Transport is a vital part of everyday life and therefore our longer-term plan needs to be bold and ambitious, delivering a transport system that works for people, businesses and the environment.

“We will make a far better longer-term plan for transport with the support of our transport users so I urge everyone within the South West to take this opportunity to have their say on the vision. This feedback will help to ensure the foundations of the strategy, which Peninsula Transport will be developing over the coming months, are built on shared goals and that we are speaking with one voice on our strategic transport links.”

The vision report can be downloaded from the website www.peninsulatransport.org.uk. Feedback can be submitted through the online survey, which can be found at https://plymouth-consult.objective.co.uk/public/transport/peninsula_transport_1

Peninsula Transport is the shadow sub-national transport body formed by the five lead transport authorities in the South West peninsula – Cornwall Council, Devon County Council, Plymouth City Council, Somerset County Council and Torbay Council.
