As part of Peninsula Transport’s route map to achieving a strategic transport network that works for businesses, communities and visitors, we play a very active part in cutting edge industry discussions and networking. Recently, the team have attended two crucial events: Interchange ’25, and the Integrated National Transport Strategy Roadshow.
Attending Interchange ’25 at Manchester Central was a fantastic opportunity to engage with industry leaders, policymakers, and innovators shaping the future of transport. From a Peninsula Transport STB perspective, key themes from the event resonated strongly with the delivery of a sustainable, resilient, and integrated transport system for the South West.
Peninsula Transport’s Nigel Blackler spoke during a panel session on leveraging the Integrated National Transport Strategy through collaboration. Nigel was joined by Midlands Connect and Western Gateway to highlight the importance of STBs.
We are looking forward to Interchange ’26 and continuing the dialogue on how we can deliver a connected, sustainable, and inclusive transport future for the South West and beyond.
The Department for Transport Integrated National Transport Strategy roadshow came down to Falmouth, and the Peninsula Transport team enjoyed discussions with delegates from local authorities, transport operators, and interest and transport groups from across the peninsula.
A roundtable session allowed delegates to explore key focus areas where transport has a significant influence. Discussions were lively and plenty of excellent ideas were shared. The insights gathered during the session will help shape the DfT’s strategy, which is expected to be published by the end of the year.
