The AECOM CIHT SW conference on the 13th November at Somerset County Cricket Ground was a great opportunity to meet others in the Highways and Transportation Industry face-to-face and for Peninsula Transport Programme Director Hannah Shrimpton to present on ‘Towards an Integrated Transport Network’.
Hannah and Kim Hawes, Peninsula Transport Project Manager, listened to informative presentations from Rhiannon Evans of Active Travel England and Lauren Allington of Devon County Council, who each raised fascinating points for discussion. Hannah and Kim also enjoyed networking, debate and discussion throughout the day with Professor Glenn Lyons, Lindsay Holloway and Hannah Clark to name just a few.
Jason Humm of Transport and Highways for Gloucestershire, representing the South West Infrastructure Partnership, spoke about the complexities of achieving our common goal: clear communications in order to achieve change on the ground.
This year’s themes of active travel, climate change, and diversity were aligned with Peninsula Transport’s vision to transform transport across the peninsula, enabling our society and economy to thrive and our unique and outstanding environment to flourish.
