Network Rail will be carrying out essential upgrades to the track in the Acton area to enhance safety and reliability on the line between Friday 18 April and Monday 21 April. They will also be continuing work to prepare for HS2’s new station, Old Oak Common, installing drainage and the overhead wires that power trains.

During this time, services will be running to a reduced timetable between Reading and London Paddington, impacting GWR, Heathrow Express, and Elizabeth line services. This includes GWR’s London Paddington – Didcot Parkway and Newbury services instead starting/terminating at Reading, and London Paddington – Cheltenham services instead starting/terminating at Swindon.

Online journey planners have been updated and customers will be made aware through station posters, station and on train announcements, and traditional and social media. Customers can also check before they travel at www.gwr.com/check
