As part of Peninsula Transport’s route map to achieving a strategic transport network that works for businesses, communities and visitors, we play a very active part in cutting edge industry discussions and networking. It’s been an informative few months!

During September, Peninsula Transport Project Manage Kim Hawes attended the Quality Bus Conference 23/24 in Manchester. One key takeaway for Kim was that when the right people come together at the strategic level, positive changes can happen to improve the bus offer for passengers. This is primarily demonstrated by urban areas, but the learning from cities such as Manchester can be adapted to meet the needs of rural areas. Peninsula Transport certainly shares the same focus and ambition as such major cities.

On 4-5th November Peninsula Transport Technical Director Ewan Wilson attended the UK Charging Infrastructure Symposium at the British Motor Museum in Warwickshire which aligned with our EV Strategy and ‘Going Electric’ goal as well as our focus on establishing a reliable, comprehensive and fairly priced EV charging network across the South West.

Ewan heard interesting presentations from charge point operators, local authorities, tech and innovation companies, the Department for Transport, NGOs and Distribution Network Operators; and was interested in discussions around accelerating delivery in rural areas as well as meeting interested stakeholders.
