The two south west transport boards, Peninsula Transport and Western Gateway, held an open event on Wed 2 Oct at Somerset County Cricket Club in Taunton.
The event was an opportunity to find out more about the boards and their work and how to influence and collaborate. It was open to councils, transport and business groups as well as interested members of the public.
There were a series of presentations covering: the role of Strategic Transport Boards, the priorities for Peninsula Transport and Western Gateway, the impact of climate change on transport policy, an update on the A303 and the second round of regional infrastructure schemes (RIS2), Network Rail and Bristol airport.
There was also be a panel debate and round table discussions.
This was a free event organised by ADEPT, ICE,CIHT and sponsored by WSP.
